Ah, Frankfurt, you really were wonderfully full of bread, modern architecture and beautiful things. The best part about Frankfurt was definitely the Christmas Markets in Romer, in short it was everything I've ever dream of: roasted chestnuts; mulled wine; cold, crisp winter air and illuminated lights. In retrospect, the main focus of our three days (although we really only had one full day) in Frankfurt was the food. We ate a lot and indulged in classic Christmas Market food and drink. We wanted to visit the Museum fur Moderne Kunst, or the Museum of Modern Art in Frankfurt, but seeing as our full day was a Monday it was unfortunately closed! We ran out of time the next day as we were flying to Berlin, although we did manage to go to Staedel Museum in the morning. Walking around Frankfurt was so pleasant in the wintry air. The buildings, old and new contrasted against each other making the surroundings of Frankfurt vibrant and alive. A more thorough post on the Romer Christmas Markets will be posted soon!
